WHAT CHALLENGES MADE YOU SEARCH FOR CLOUD VIRTUAL DESKTOP?

Most of our employees work from home with occasional visits to the office. Having the position of a lead copywriter and content creator, my daily routine is consisted of producing copy – from emails to blogs to website copy – with infrequent video production recording.

Due to my working from home, the computer I own is not intended for work purposes only. Therefore, I ended up trying to keep work and personal items apart from each other. I had tried other virtual desktops and found them lacking the main reason for their usage, which was keeping my personal (personal writings, emails, chats, streaming) and work (email, chats, business writing) aspects divided.

HOW DID YOU GET TO KNOW ABOUT V2 CLOUD WORKSPACES?

Eventually, a search through Google has led me to a third party site/company that compared various applications. This resulted in providing the ability to get in touch with the chosen companies.

DID YOU TRY OTHER PRODUCTS/SOLUTIONS BEFORE CHOOSING V2 CLOUD?

I tried A LOT of other solutions like Dexpot, VirtuaWin and Amazon WorkSpaces. Ultimately, I decided to use Amazon WorkSpaces, which did solve many of the issues I had at the time. However, I found it too expensive for myself as an individual user. Additionally, they seemed to be more interested in keeping business-oriented clients, rather than personalized ones, such as myself.

WHY DID YOU PREFER V2 CLOUD TO OTHER PROVIDERS?

By cause of an unresolved issue with AWS, I was guided towards V2 Cloud. Aside from the initial set up of V2 Cloud that took only minutes, all of the issues I had with Outlook and the problem preventing me from downloading certain applications, were quickly resolved.

Pricing is superb. For an almost identical instance, I now pay half of the price I was paying for AWS and have not yet run into any issues with the usage of my programs. When issues do appear, I no longer need to spend extra money for tech support nor wait for few hours/days in order to get a reply on the forums like it was the case with AWS. Instead, I simply go to support, ask my question and hear back from someone within 5 to 10 minutes (usually Dejan). Not only am I paying what makes sense for an individual user (not a company or enterprise), but it also includes the ability to get tech support without the necessity of paying extra fees.

HOW IS V2 CLOUD SOLVING THIS PROBLEM FOR YOU?

As mentioned earlier, my major problem was striving to keep my work and personal profiles apart, but also the ability to go back and forth if needed.

A big issue I had with AWS – aside from pricing – was being prohibited to use Outlook 2016. For obvious reasons, email is a big portion of my work day and I hate using the web version because a lot of features aren’t present. I believe security issues on AWS side prevented me from being able to connect to our servers. The solution was to actually contact our server host to allow AWS; that didn’t work for me at all. Starting to use V2 Cloud, I had no problems with the initial set up Office 2016, as well as no difficulties with its further settings.

I’ve been using V2 Cloud now for a month or two (including the free trial) and I love it. My desktop is my main computer, with two 24 inch monitors and I find it convenient to use multi-monitors just as I would on my personal side. While I do tend to turn the volume down or off, the fact that I can hear sounds to alert me to upcoming events or incoming email is great. I would recommend it to anyone that struggled the same way as me in separating work from personal related items.

HOW ARE YOU BENEFITING FROM USING V2 CLOUD?

The competence of keeping work and personal aspects from my computer distinct, has been excellent. Not only does this work on both my desktop and laptop, but the web version is a quick way to log in if I need to do something immediately. It’s the perfect tool to work remotely as well!

Quick, easy, and efficient. Within a matter of minutes, you have an instance ready to set up and depending on what you need, installing is quicker than reinstalling on a new computer. Pricing really can’t be beaten, with different tiers to fit EVERY type of employee or business, from just 1 to 1000; I also can’t stress enough how accommodating and responsive tech support is, answering any questions you might or walking you through a process.
