What is the difference between Basic and Business plan

Basic plan will contain 1 manual backup of your cloud computer. You can manually take a backup copy of your cloud computer at any time. You will need to delete the current backup copy if you want to take another later. Business plan will automatically take a backup copy of your cloud computer each day and will keep a history of 10 days.

Basic plans are unmanaged. On business plans, our system will monitor your cloud computer and you will receive notifications by email instantly when an event happens: computer running out of memory, disk space reaching low level, abnormally high CPU usage, etc.

On business plans, we take a hard copy of your cloud computer to an external node every day. In case a disaster happens, we will always have a second copy of all your data.

On business plans, you will be able to connect multiple cloud computers under the same network.

ADVANCED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between shared and dedicated IP address?

By default cloud computers have a shared public IP address. The computer will be behind a NAT firewall and the RDP port will be forwarded by default. You will have the ability to forward other ports also. Unless you need to host a server publicly available from the Internet (e.g. Web server), you should always choose shared IP address as it is more secure.

Dedicated IP address computer are directly connected to the Internet without any firewall except the operating system’s firewall. This should only be used if you know what you are doing and plan to use it for hosting a web server.

My cloud computer has shared IP address. How do I forward ports?

From your dashboard, locate your cloud computer and click Actions -> Manage computer. Under the Ports tab, you will find a button named Add new port forward.

What is the Hypervisor?

Our system has a distributed architecture with completely independent nodes. Nodes can have XenServer, VMware or Hyper-V.

Is this VDI or RDS?

Cloud computers by default come with Windows Server operating system with Desktop experience enabled. This is considered VDI.

If you add more users in the cloud computer, the system will automatically configure Remote Desktop Services and the computer will act as a Remote Desktop Session Host. You don’t have to configure or install anything, the system will take care of everything and your cloud computer will become a Terminal Server and each user will have its own respective session.

There is no Remote Desktop Gateway or Remote Desktop Connection Broker by default. End-users will connect directly to the Terminal Server Host. If you plan to build an RDS farm with more than 50 users for a single client, please contact us.
