The bare metal cloud definition is essentially a form of IaaS cloud service. It requires a dedicated server infrastructure to implement cloud services without virtualization. The bare-metal servers do not include hypervisors, hence they aren’t virtualized. For example, when an entire server is provided to a customer with no visualization it refers to it as a bare metal instance. It provides more flexibility as you can customize it to fit your requirements.

This type of cloud server can be customized for specific workloads. Load balancing in bare metal clouds can be achieved through redundancy and security. Privacy can be achieved through the complete isolation of the cloud servers. This cloud infrastructure can be easily scaled without losing efficiency. Bare metal clouds are more commonly used to host demanding, mission-critical systems such as business intelligence applications or database applications.
