New Feature
Block Storage volumes are now available
▼

You can now create dedicated Block Storage volumes from 100GB to however many TB you require and attach them to any cloud desktop in your account. Start with one of the preset sizes (100GB, 500GB, or 1TB) or pick a custom size in 100GB steps. Each volume lives in the region closest to you by default, and you can pick a different region if you need to.

Block Storage gives you a clean way to keep large files separate from your desktop image. Detach a volume from one machine and reattach it to another without copying anything across. To create your first one, head to Block Storage in the left sidebar and click Add new Block Storage.

New Feature
Automatic snapshot schedules protect every volume
▼

Turn on Snapshot Schedule when you create a Block Storage volume and pick how often you want backups taken. You can run Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly schedules side by side on the same volume, so a single rule covers both short-term and long-term recovery.

Each schedule lets you set the time of day, the day it runs on, the time zone, and how many copies to keep. Daily schedules can hold up to 31 copies, weekly up to 52, monthly up to 12, and yearly up to 12. Snapshots run quietly in the background and follow your retention rules automatically.

New Feature
Take a manual snapshot whenever you need one
▼

About to run a big update or test a configuration change? Take a manual snapshot first. From the Manage page of any volume, click Create Manual Snapshot, give it a name, and submit. The snapshot captures the exact state of the volume right then.

Manual snapshots sit alongside your scheduled ones in the Snapshot Manage view. You can create them on demand, delete them when you no longer need them, and restore from any of them in seconds.

New Feature
Restore a volume to any saved snapshot in one click
▼

Pick any snapshot from your Snapshot Manage list, click Restore, and the volume rolls back to that point in time. The restore screen shows you the snapshot name, the date it was taken, and the attached cloud desktop so you can confirm you have the right one before you commit.

Worried about losing recent changes? There is a checkbox to capture a snapshot of the current state first, so you have a clean rollback path in either direction. If the volume is attached to a running cloud desktop, the desktop restarts as part of the restore.

New Feature
Resize a volume from the actions menu
▼

Running out of space on a volume? Open the Actions menu, click Resize, and pick a bigger size. The resize screen shows your current size, the new size, your snapshot schedule cost at the new size, and any applicable tax, so you can see the full picture before you confirm.

You only pay the difference for the upgrade, charged at the time of resize. Expansion is supported in 100GB increments up to 5TB.

New Feature
Move volumes between cloud desktops without copying data
▼

Block Storage volumes are portable. Detach a volume from one cloud desktop and attach it to another from the Actions menu. The files on the volume stay exactly where they are, no transfer needed.

When you detach, the related cloud desktop restarts once so the operating system can release the drive cleanly. Files on the desktop and files on the volume are both kept intact.

Improvement
New Block Storage section in the left sidebar
▼

Block Storage now has its own home in the main navigation. Open it from the left sidebar to see every volume on your account in one table, with sortable columns for name, attached cloud desktop, region, size, and current usage.

Fuzzy search lets you find a volume by name or by the cloud desktop it is attached to. Click the volume name to jump straight into its management page, where snapshot rules, manual snapshots, and resize live.

Improvement
Live capacity usage shows on every volume
▼

The Block Storage table shows real-time capacity usage for every volume, so you can spot a volume that is filling up before it becomes a problem. Usage refreshes automatically in the background as your team writes files.

If a volume gets close to full, you can resize it in place from the same view. No need to log into a desktop and run disk tools.

Next month we are focused on filters and bulk actions for Block Storage, plus deeper monitoring for attached desktops.
